In english
I am member of the City Council, Deputy Mayor of the City Executive Board in Gothenburg and vice chairman in the Recycle/Environment Committee. I was earlier a member of the board of Chalmers Technical University.
At the national level I am a member of the Board of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities (SALAR) I am also chairman of the Swedish Water and Waste Water Association (SWWA)
Internationally I am a member of the Executive Committee of Airport Regions Conference(ARC).
I am married with three adult children and two grandchildren. I have lived in Gothenburg throughout my entire life and I have been involved in politics and our political party Moderaterna since my high-school years at Hvitfeldtska. Before I became a full-time politician I worked with organization, administration and community planning within different local government agencies.
As a politician I dealt with health services issues during the 1980s, then on to local council and personnel politics. After that I spent many years as the responsible council member for Moderaterna on political issues concerning schools and education in Gothenburg, which was hugely inspiring.
But after 15 years dealing with issues concerning education I decided to take on the environmental issues in 2006, so since then I have been the responsible council member for Moderaterna in Gothenburg on environmental issues.
Within the environmental area we are all facing a huge problem concerning climate change. Naturally decisions have to be taken on a multilateral world-spanning basis to solve many of these problems. But “many small steps make one big step”, so I believe we also need to look at what we can do at a local level to make our own city or community more environmentally friendly. During my three years working with environmental issues I have discovered that there are so many things that we can do at a local level, both as a politician but also as a citizen, to change our everyday habits to be more environmentally friendly. I look forward to continue this work during the coming years!
Yours sincerely
